Fall is for Baking!
When the weather starts to turn cold, there is not much better than a loaf of something warm baking in the oven. I love the smell of fresh breads baking, the warmth and comfort it spreads throughout the whole house. And even more, I love to slather a piece of hot bread right out of the oven with butter and be the first to "sample" it and make sure it's good for the rest of my family. :) Here are a few of our current favorites for fall.

Pumpkin Bread from Cookie + Kate
I love this website for a healthier version of the classic favorite that is sure to be delcious. Needless to say this bread doesn't stick around for long in our house!
Zucchini Bread from Cookie + Kate
Absolutely love this bread. Always moist and full of flavor. Perfect with a hot cup of coffee or tea!
Coconut Flour Pumpkin Muffins from Wellness Mama
If you are gluten free, or not, these muffins are simply delicious.
Beer Bread from my own secret stash of family recipes :)
Here is one from my very own mama. I am drooling just thinking about this bread. It makes me think of Christmas and happy memories. Don't worry, the alcohol cooks out so this recipe is family friendly and you end up with an incredibly easy and impressive homemade bread!
Beer Bread Recipe
3 C self rising flour
1 beer at room temperature
1/2 C sugar
1/4 C melted butter
Combine flour, sugar, and beer. Mix well. Pour into silicone or greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Pour melted butter on top of loaf. Turn off oven and leave bread in oven for 10 minutes.
As you gather around the table with family or friends and a hot slice of bread (preferably topped with butter), here are a few questions for the season...
What do you love about fall?
What is a favorite fall memory that you have?
What is a favorite fall tradition?
What things are on your wish list to do this fall that you have not yet done? Maybe even make a list together as a family and check them off as you do them.
As we enter into the season of Thanksgiving, how can we express our thanks to God and to others this month?
Whatever the weather is like where you are, happy fall and happy baking!
